About Us

It’s our job to listen to you with passion and compassion.
We’re ready to serve you. At the West Deerfield Township office, we embrace the tradition that goes back over 150 years when our Township was founded. That tradition is to serve our community by representing government at its best – by being both responsive and accountable.

Trustee Kaye Kharasch: Kaye Kharasch and her husband moved to the township nearly 20 years ago to raise their two daughters and become active members in the community. Kaye is a successful businesswoman who will bring her fiscal acumen and progressive ideas to the Board of Trustees. Her passion for the environment and commitment to the community led her to develop West Deerfield Township’s Recycle IT for Good program.

Trustee Paras Parekh: Paras Parekh and his wife Shruti are raising their twin children in Highland Park. Soon after moving here Paras became involved in a variety of community activities including becoming a board Member for Friends for Health, a local non-profit that increases access to health care for the most vulnerable. Paras also served on the West Deerfield Township Community Services Advisory Committee and is a former city planning commissioner. He is committed to creating a vibrant community where businesses and families can flourish.

ONE OFFICE, A BROAD RANGE OF RESPONSIBILITIES. Our charter is to maintain the functions of General Assistance, Property Assessment, and Voting Services, as well as maintain Unincorporated Roads. But today, our role in the community goes beyond – to our many programs intended to improve the quality of life that you’ll learn about on this web site.

The West Deerfield Township has a board of Trustees that includes 4 members of the community to provide oversight and ensure we deliver on the promise of representative government. The regularly scheduled meetings are open to the public and we welcome any and all who wish to attend.
