The West Deerfield Township Holiday Wish program is an opportunity for our community to bring special happiness to some of our less fortunate neighbors during the winter holiday season.
Based on the current COVID-19 climate, the Holiday Wish program will look a bit different this year. For a number of years, residents have “adopted” singles, couples, or families to provide them with gifts of the season. While we all enjoy the aspect of shopping for gifts, this year we know you will understand circumstances dictate a different way of making holidays happy for those less in fortunate in our Township. As we strive to keep staff and clients safe, we have decided not to accept actual gifts this year.
We are asking that those interested in being a donor purchase only gift cards for our clients. Gift cards could be purchased from local grocery stores, pharmacies, big-box stores (Target, Kohls, Walmart, Costco-you don’t have to be a member to redeem a gift card), gas stations, local specialty stores, or local restaurants. This will bring joy and happiness to those hit especially hard during this difficult time.
If you would like to adopt a senior, senior couple or family for the holiday season, please complete the attached sponsorship form and return to the Township office. You may also call our office at 847-945-0614 to request a form be mailed to you.
Thank you for helping to brighten the holidays
for our community.
“We know that, based on the past success of this program, that our community will step forward to support our neighbors who are less fortunate and in need of our support,” said West Deerfield Township Supervisor Alyson Feiger. “We extend our warmest thanks to all the residents and businesses who give so much to brighten the holidays for our community.”
